HBMC was formed in 1968 and incorporated in 1970. Our Club got it's name from the old Flat Track Flyer at Huntington Beach Cycle Park. It is an assumption that our Founding Fathers were from Huntington Beach. In actuality, the majority of them were from Anaheim. They used to race at the Huntington Beach Cycle Park, which at that time had a $2.00 entry fee and first place was awarded a T.V. set. After one of the members had his bike stolen, they migrated to the desert where they formed the Huntington Beach Motorcycle Club. They all started as Novices and gradually worked their way up and gathered more members. We have had celebrity riders such as Mike Sixberry, Larry Roseler, Trudy Beck and Dan Ashcraft who were all picked up by factory sponsors. Today, our membership is scattered throughout Southern California and neighboring states. Members come from all around to enjoy both the camaraderie within our Club and the pleasures of the beautiful High Desert areas in which we set-up our weekend retreats away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Currently we have about 80 out of the 214 members who actively participate with the Club on a regular basis. HBMC boasts a very low member turnover rate. We have one of the largest memberships in the desert, something for which we are very proud, in that it says that we both attract and keep our members. HBMC's membership consists of all ages and skill levels. We like to have fun and enjoy the family atmosphere. We have members who are serious about racing and others who are happy to get a finish. We provide excellent pit service to either breed of racer. We hold the majority of our Club meetings at he first desert race of he month around the campfire. We are now integrating Zoom meetings to give everyone the best chance at staying involved with the club, even if they aren't racing at the moment. To become a member, stop by camp and pick up an application. We require you to actively participate in six events before being voted upon. Once you obtain membership, you will be required to wear club colors, remain in camp until the last club rider makes it in and possibly pull one pit duty a year.  One of the benefits of being a member of a large club is that you will always have a friend to go riding with. Members are always willing to go riding on an off weekend. We also have club outings to Kennedy Meadows, Mammoth, and Huntington Beach State Park throughout the year. We also have a year end Christmas party where we recognize our top Club members. Come find the blue and yellow HBMC Club flag and guest pit with us to meet our members and make some new friends.
