Rider: Jeff Barber City: Pasadena Year Born: 1961 Started Riding in: 1970 Desert Class: Senior Open Expert Bike Make and Size: KTM 450 MXC Family: Wife- Rebecca; Daughters-Sydney, Madison and Natalie
Funniest race moment: Grabbing the perfect start and line to the Bomb and about 10 miles past it in the 1983 Check Chase; then realizing I was all alone in a single line canyon and dropping my bike because I was startled by someone catching up to me.... then I realized I was being passed by Team Husky's Dan Smith and Dan Ashcraft.... wow! What a start I must have had.
What you like about the Club: I have been involved with HBMC since 1973.... although through the years my racing has had to take a back seat to life's priority's, but when you return the BEST desert club and members make you feel like you never left.
Racing Accomplishments: 3rd place finish and top 20 overall as a 250 amateur in the 1983 Check Chase River Run. Number 20x for the 1983 sseason; number 019 for the 2007 season.
Your ultimate goal in racing: To return to racing as soon as my girls complete their high school sports and move on to college; then give the open expert magnum class a run for their money.
